A series of house concerts to benefit the IRC new roots community farm
The New Roots Community Farm is a project of the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in San Diego which helps refugees and immigrants to grow healthy, culturally appropriate food and increase their income through agricultural entrepreneurship. Thieves recently raided the shed on the farm, leaving the 85 families tilling the soil there without the tools they need to tend their plots.
The proceeds from these concerts will create a fund to replace them.

Thursday, December 13 - Songs for People - American Folk & Roadtrip Classics
The up-beat and down-to-earth trio "Songs For People" has been playing folksy songs for folksy people since the UMWA Coal Miners Strike of 1902. A celebration of the tradition of American folk music, the three guys bust out original tunes as well as adaptations of songs from people like Pete Seeger, Arlo Guthrie, and countless other anonymous heros of a bygone age. They gig weekly in union halls, roller rinks, and street corners across San Diego, and play only for drinks, friends, and a good time.
